Green Chiropractic (“Green Chiropractic,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is the chiropractic practice of Dr. Greg Green, DC, located at 1416 Campbell Road, Building B, Suite 207, Houston, TX 77055. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit greenchirohouston.com (the “Website”).

This policy covers the Website only. It does not cover the health information we collect when you are a patient. That information is described in our separate Notice of Privacy Practices (see “Health information and HIPAA” below).

Health information and HIPAA

Please do not send health or medical information through this Website. That includes the contact form, blog comments, and email. Website forms are not intended for symptoms, diagnoses, insurance details, or other medical information, and they are not a secure way to send it.

If you need to share health information or have a medical question, please call us at (832) 203-5884 or discuss it at your appointment. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.

When you become a patient, your protected health information is handled under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable Texas law. Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how we use and protect it. You can ask for a copy at the office or read it online at https://greenchirohouston.com/notice-of-privacy-practices/. Using the Website, including visiting it or contacting us through it, does not by itself create a patient relationship.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form. When you use the form on our contact page, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you enter.
  • Blog comments. If you leave a comment, we collect the comment, the name and email address you provide, and any website you list. A comment and the name you give may be shown publicly. WordPress may also record your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Please do not include health information in comments.
  • Email and phone. If you email us (for example at info@greggreendc.com) or call us, we receive whatever information you choose to share.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address (and your name if you provide it) to send it. Our newsletter is delivered by SendFox. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Website, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information. This can include:

  • your IP address and approximate location
  • your browser and device type
  • the pages you view and the links you click
  • the referring website
  • the date and time of your visit

We collect it using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies through the tools described below.

Analytics

We use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the Website so we can improve it:

  • Google Analytics, set up through Google Site Kit and/or MonsterInsights. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your use of the Website and reports it to us in aggregate. Google’s own handling of this data is explained at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Independent Analytics, a WordPress plugin that records page views and visit statistics on our own web server.

We use analytics to understand how the Website is used. We do not use it to identify you or to learn about any medical condition.

Advertising and the Meta Pixel

The Website uses the Meta Pixel (from Meta Platforms, Inc., the company behind Facebook and Instagram). The Meta Pixel uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit and actions you take on the Website. Meta may use this information to measure our advertising and to show you ads on its platforms, and it may combine it with information it already has about you.

Meta’s practices are described in its Privacy Policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

Embedded content and third-party services

Some pages include content or links from other companies. When you interact with them, those companies may collect information about you under their own privacy policies. They include:

  • Google Maps, embedded on our contact/directions page to show our location.
  • YouTube and Vimeo videos embedded in some pages and posts.
  • Repuso, which shows a widget of patient reviews.
  • Gravatar (by Automattic), which may display a profile image next to blog comments based on the email address used.

Online booking

You can book appointments using TidyCal. Massage appointments are scheduled through Acuity Scheduling. These booking services are run by third parties. When you schedule, you give your information directly to them, and they handle it under their own privacy policies and terms. Please give only the information the booking form needs, and do not include detailed health information in booking notes.

Affiliate and outside links

The Website links to other websites, including articles, research, and products. Some product links, including Amazon, Fullscript, and similar retailer links, may be affiliate links. That means we may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of the websites we link to.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Website uses:

  • cookies needed for it to work, for example to remember comment details if you choose
  • analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
  • advertising cookies (Meta Pixel)

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the Website work. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common standard for responding to these signals, the Website does not currently respond to them.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to your questions and requests
  • schedule and manage appointments through our booking providers
  • send newsletters if you have subscribed
  • run, secure, and improve the Website
  • measure the Website’s performance and our advertising
  • prevent spam and abuse
  • comply with legal obligations

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • with service providers who help us run the Website and our practice, such as our web host, analytics, booking, and email providers
  • with the third-party services described above, through their tools on the Website
  • when required by law or to protect our rights, patients, or others
  • in connection with a sale or transfer of the practice

Data retention and security

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here or as required by law. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it. However, no website or internet transmission is completely secure, which is one more reason not to send health information through the Website.

Texas residents

If you are a Texas resident, you may have rights under applicable Texas law, which may include the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act where it applies. These may include the right to:

  • ask what personal information we have about you
  • ask us to correct or delete it
  • opt out of targeted advertising

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond as required by law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Patient health records are governed by HIPAA and Texas health-records law, not by this policy. To request your records, please see our Records Requests page at https://greenchirohouston.com/records-requests/.

Children’s privacy

The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Website. If you believe a child has given us information through the Website, please contact us and we will delete it. Appointments for minors are arranged by a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
